Entry #3: Slanted article
SLANTED ARTICLES
Slanted articles are always saying something completely different than you may think. As a reporter and sometimes journalist I am often called "Biased" which is a term used by people who typically don't agree with you in my opinion. This article I want to share with you is that is saying one thing but means a completely different and every single journalist or reporter will agree with it and understand what the writer is talking about. They will all have this in common including myself.
In the article I'm a biased journalist the author explains the role of a journalist and how the job is required to give your perspective on a situation you may be writing about. In life we will not always be perfect and be able to keep biased out of everything but if people don't agree with you but have no argument you will automatically become biased. In journalism there are many different kinds of stories and many different ways to attack it depending on your style and the company you work for style. People that don't write and read something may not understand the type of story you are writing and jump to conclusion about who you are as a person. I have seen people judge someones entire character off one piece of writing without fully understanding what they are truly saying. Calling a journalist biased and getting enough people on board with it can hurt someones credibility and career as a writer so it is very important to understand everything before you make a final judgement.
Journalists are very important in America because without them we don't get the news and different points of views about the news. As someone who writes and has to deal with people like this it is very hard to want to keep doing this because people won't hear you out or try to get to the bottom of what you're really saying. Stay tuned for my next blog entry!
Until next time,
