Entry #6: Sports

Image
Sports! Who doesn't love sports? I mean seriously! I am a huge Dodgers, Raiders, Lakers and Kings fan and probably have a half closet full of jerseys and autographs. Growing up I named all my animals after my favorite players and sports teams if my parents let me. Growing up it was damn near all I knew.  I have always loved to travel to see my teams play and in the picture above is a perfect example. I drove to Cincinnati to watch the Raiders get whooped. Talk about a long car ride home. I played football, baseball and wrestled as a kid and into high school. I had a scholarship to Missouri Valley to play football but failed a class senior year and watched my whole life crumble. Watching how hard that was on my dad who dedicated years to me and my athletic career really sucked and now I get to watch sports as a fan instead of as a player which is fine now but it took a couple years to get over it. I have been to La, Seattle, St.Louis, Cinci, Arizona, Chicago, San Diego and Ka...

Entry #5: Arizona needs more graduates

Image
ARIZONA NEEDS MORE GRADS! OR DO THEY? Hi there again today I am here to talk about an article that governor Ducey wrote about Arizona needing more college graduates. In the article  LINK  he explains that education leads to more opportunity. From a student perspective I agree because it's giving me the biggest opportunity of my lifetime to work for the UFC as a public relations specialist. However, some things in life don't require education to turn into a career. My mom has been with her company for 30 years and lives an amazing life. I watched my mom work her tail off to get to this point and I can truly say as a child I had everything I could want or at least need because of my moms hard work. Not everyone can afford college either and don't get enough in student loans or aid to complete school so they never go for it because they know they can't finish. On another note I disagree especially in a state like Arizona that has so many needs for tradesman who get paid ...

Entry #4: Funny Movies

Image
FUNNY MOVIES ARE THE BEST! Hi there again! I wanted to come on here and talk about funny movies. Have you ever just sat there and watched a funny movie and laughed so hard you can't breathe? That's the way I felt when Superbad came out. I laugh just thinking about the stupid stuff that happens in that movie. Although I'm not here to talk about Superbad you get the point.  My childhood was built off watching funny movies with my family or friends but mostly my friends. We would go to the store and get a bunch of snacks and probably watch movies our parents would never let us watch. That stuck with me as I got older. I still to this day love to watch funny movies or stuff that is so stupid that it makes it hilarious. My friends and I used to watch funny movies all weekend long if you let us and my wife and I will watch them still to this day. Sometimes it feels good to get away from reality for 2-4 hours and do nothing but laugh. As we get older were always so worried about...

Entry #3: Slanted article

Image
SLANTED ARTICLES  Slanted articles are always saying something completely different than you may think. As a reporter and sometimes journalist I am often called "Biased" which is a term used by people who typically don't agree with you in my opinion. This article I want to share with you is that is saying one thing but means a completely different and every single journalist or reporter will agree with it and understand what the writer is talking about. They will all have this in common including myself.  In the article  I'm a biased journalist  the author explains the role of a journalist and how the job is required to give your perspective on a situation you may be writing about. In life we will not always be perfect and be able to keep biased out of everything but if people don't agree with you but have no argument you will automatically become biased. In journalism there are many different kinds of stories and many differ...
