Entry #7: Hashtags

HASHTAGS

 Hashtags are a really cool thing to learn how to use especially when you are trying to get a particular post out there for people to see. I know that hashtags are very useful for getting more engagement on social media as well for media and content creators especially. 

I tend to use a lot of hashtags as in the field I am in I need all the engagement I can get not only for my content but for the athletes as well to help grow their brand. Before I started media I never really cared about hashtags but my friends sure did. However they have become a big part of what I do on social media. When I make a post some important ones that are must use are things like the fighters name, the weight class they're in, the promotion they fight for and of course #MMA! Those are the most important ones and then of course hashtag the country they are from.  I feel like when it comes to MMA it is important to hashtag stuff that relates to country and culture with fighters who are not American because I have had a lot of success with doing that in the past. People outside of America really support their hometown heroes and athletes. 

In my opinion hashtags are a very important piece to social media and help bring light and engagement to certain posts depending on what it is. Hashtags have helped make people famous in this world and will probably do the same for more people. I hope to see you all for my next blog stay tuned!
